LSS Mentoring Services has a rare opening for our next Community Mentoring Coordinator. HOURS: Primarily Monday through Friday, daytime hours. Evenings and weekends on occasion.

SALARY: Dependent on experience and qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES: The LSS Community Mentoring Program matches volunteers with youth ages 7-14 in an effort to increase community connection among youth and establishing trusting relationships. This position will serve as the primary coordinator for this program. Work activities include carrying out daily tasks required to manage the LSS Community Mentoring program. This position will also be responsible to plan and implement a volunteer recruitment strategy that includes public relations activities, presentations, and special events. This position will also coordinate and conduct orientation sessions and ongoing training for program volunteers and students. The coordinator will also supervise matches in the program and provide support and case management to students and their families by maintaining regular communication with volunteers, students, and their families and conduct regular surveys and check-ins.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree preferred, plus one to two years experience in related human service field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong organizational, event planning, and follow up skills are required. Public speaking and excellent communication skills as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency auto insurance requirements. Must successfully complete all agency background checks. Must be at least 18 years of age.
